For those who have developed a foundational understanding of crystal singing bowls and gongs, Level 2 is designed to help transform individual techniques into a cohesive and intentional sound healing practice. This five-hour intermediate training focuses on the art of sequencing, timing, transitions, and musical flow, providing students with the tools necessary to create sound journeys that feel seamless, engaging, and professionally structured.
While many practitioners learn how to play individual instruments, creating a truly immersive sound bath requires understanding how sounds relate to one another over time. Throughout this training, students will learn how to thoughtfully organize, blend, and transition between sounds to create experiences that feel fluid rather than fragmented. The emphasis is not simply on playing more instruments, but on understanding how each sound contributes to the larger journey.
The training begins with an advanced exploration of crystal singing bowl technique. Students will continue refining their body mechanics, coordination, and overall control while learning how to work with multiple bowls simultaneously. Special attention will be given to developing greater independence between the left and right hands, allowing students to confidently create layered soundscapes and more sophisticated musical arrangements.
As technical confidence grows, we will begin exploring chord construction and harmonic relationships between bowls. Students will learn a variety of chord combinations and discover how different tonal groupings create different emotional and energetic experiences. Beyond simply creating chords, we will focus on how to transition from one chord combination to another, developing the ability to weave sounds together in a way that feels natural, continuous, and musically satisfying.
Timing and rhythm become a major focus throughout this training. Students will learn how pacing influences the participant experience and how varying speed can dramatically alter the atmosphere of a sound journey. We will explore how rhythm can be used to create movement, stillness, anticipation, and release while also learning practical methods for maintaining greater control over the duration and structure of a sound bath.
Another essential component of this training involves understanding how to categorize sound. Students will learn how different instruments and tonal textures can serve different functions within a sound journey and how to organize these sounds into a sequence that feels intentional and balanced. Through this framework, participants will begin understanding how to build a complete experience rather than simply moving randomly from one instrument to the next.
From there, we will explore a wide variety of complementary instruments that can be integrated alongside crystal singing bowls and gongs. Students will be introduced to rainsticks, ocean drums, chimes, crystal harp, and the Free Note Wave, learning both the technical aspects of playing each instrument and the unique qualities they contribute to a sound bath environment.
A significant focus will be placed on using these instruments as transition tools. Rather than creating abrupt stops or noticeable gaps between sounds, students will learn how these supporting instruments can help bridge different sections of a sound journey, allowing participants to remain immersed in a deeply meditative state throughout the experience. Through live demonstrations and guided examples, students will learn how to thoughtfully place these instruments within a sequence to maintain continuity and flow.
Throughout the training, Kyle Lam will share the sequencing methods, transition techniques, and structural approaches developed through years of facilitating professional sound baths. Students will gain insight into how experienced facilitators organize their sessions, maintain participant engagement, and create experiences that feel both intentional and effortless.

No instruments are required to participate in this training. However, students who wish to practice alongside the demonstrations are strongly encouraged to have access to at least a seven-bowl crystal singing bowl set. This will allow for a more hands-on learning experience and provide opportunities to immediately apply the concepts being taught throughout the day.
